Småskolan
Work is organised around agreed directions and carried forward through discussion, individual research, and ongoing exchange. Methods and media remain open, with particular emphasis on designing and building as ways of working. The focus stays on clarity of thought, testing, and long-term development.
Småskolan operates at a small scale. The setting offers distance from daily distractions and supports sustained attention and deep work.
The site where the project takes place is also a lived-in home. Animals are part of everyday life and often part of the work, and their presence is approached with care toward local wildlife and farm animals.
The project is initiated and hosted by the people who live on site and is administered by Karol Szmigielski, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Inquiries and project propositions are more than welcome.

- Is a master’s thesis developed through long-term fieldwork in Sweden. The research approaches architecture as a speculative practice informed by ethnography, history, and everyday presence, and proposes a sauna as a possible architectural response.
